At Taylor & Francis we’ve been publishing open access journals since 2006, and in 2013 we complimented it with our Open Access Book program. We have collaborated with researchers to build one of the largest open access book collections and are delighted to be able to showcase open access book content from our Routledge and CRC Press imprints.
All our open access books and chapters are hosted on our Taylor & Francis eBooks platform for researchers to discover. From Archaeology to Medicine, Politics to Urban Studies, our open access book portfolio is constantly updated and available to your researchers.
We have collections in Gender Studies and African Studies that were created with Knowledge Unlatched. These were financed through libraries coming together to crowd fund key research and making it available to all. These are living collections which will continue to expand.
Open access book content is available to all library users on our Taylor & Francis eBooks platform. Your researchers will have access to over 2,800 pieces of open access book content, with the ability to share these resources with students and peers to maximise collaboration.
All our open access books are free for users to read, once a book or chapter is open access it remains available to your researchers without charge year after year.
Each open access title clearly marked with the open access symbol and license information. When new open access content is published it will automatically be integrated into your collection.
Each open access book and chapter have undergone the same rigorous peer review, production process and formatting as our traditionally published titles.
These titles are DRM free and easily accessible on our eBooks platform, with full usage reporting available.
Taylor & Francis offers flexibility with our Open Access Books Membership. This is a bespoke solution to support your researchers in publishing open access, simplify the process of publishing OA for authors, reduce administration for library staff, and save with discounted publication charges.
It is our belief that the option to publish open access should be available to as many researchers as possible. To help achieve this goal, we offer waivers to eligible researchers on the Book Publishing Charges (BPCs) normally required to publish in the Taylor & Francis open access books program.
There are many benefits of an open access membership with Taylor & Francis. They include:
A secure prepayment account with funds set aside for book and chapter publishing charges.
Discounts on the BPCs for open access book content including chapters.
Reduced administration of processing multiple invoices.
Developing open access publishing at your institution by facilitating the funding of BPCs.
A dedicated and personalized open access page on Routledge.com
